I'll be Florida later this month and if I'm not in the distribution area for the Funky Buddha’s Maple Bacon Coffee Porter I will be sad.

I may be the only Chicago-area person who didn't care that much for Goose Island even before the buyout (just not my speed), but I certainly respect them for showing the way for the various breweries we have now.

Yeah -- Goose Island was a fun bar to go to and play pool back in my law school days, but I've never thought it was that great.

Obligatory sigh for the lack of DC. Again.

Craft beer is sill a wonderfully diverse locally. While the larger craft breweries (Dogfish Head, Sierra Nevada, Stone, Brooklyn) all have wide distribution, there are lots of gems that don't get out much.

They make a damned fine root beer, especially when you get it in the bar from the tap.

Marsha is correct!! Goose Island root beer is known in our house as THE GOOD root beer. (although the west coaster in me is tickled that I can now get Henry Weinhard's root beer at the mariano's near my house)
