I feel this way about the reputation of people at Wrigley showing up in suits to drink beer and stare at their cell phones - yes, there are people at Wrigley like that, but most aren't. But the people not watching the game are so annoying as to make it the primary memory many people have of Wrigley, and the reputation sticks. Sigh.Marshanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3953654.post-3450412417987273172014-05-27T12:59:30.442-04:002014-05-27T12:59:30.442-04:00As a Phillies' partial season ticket holder, I...As a Phillies' partial season ticket holder, I feel the same way on those off years when we play the Red Sox or a few years ago when the Mets were playing halfway decent, Mets games. I have sold my tickets to those games so I don't have to deal with them. we're not all bad.Christy in Phillynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3953654.post-35044458243382890332014-05-27T10:49:03.835-04:002014-05-27T10:49:03.835-04:00I had literally no feelings about Philadelphia or ...I had literally no feelings about Philadelphia or its sports teams until I went to an Orioles-Phillies game (this was before the Nats arrived, so the O's and Phillies were the interleague rivals). The behavior at that one game turned me against Philadelphia sports teams.

I had a lovely time when I visited the city itself, though; Rittenhouse Square was fabulous.BarbL114noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3953654.post-38241088449315536892014-05-26T15:14:37.250-04:002014-05-26T15:14:37.250-04:00Holding cell and an arraignment courtroom IN THE S...Holding cell and an arraignment courtroom IN THE STADIUM to process the drunks, louts, goons, thugs and bullies arrested at Eagles games.

It was created to save fuel and because there wasn't enough parking at City Hall for all the buses and paddy wagons on a Sunday afternoon.Michael Hagennoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3953654.post-86109461482973695642014-05-23T19:07:07.387-04:002014-05-23T19:07:07.387-04:00"Most passionate sports fans" -- well, t..."Most passionate sports fans" -- well, that's one way to put it.
You all have been nothing but lovely (including on twitter), but I loathe going to see the Nats when the Phillies are in town, because of how horrendously abusive and boorish a not-insignificant percentage of the fans are. One year, we just decided to skip Phillies games in the future. I have been told the same thing about Phillies football fans, though I haven't experienced that personally.Genevievenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3953654.post-8704395591615356542014-05-23T10:49:18.171-04:002014-05-23T10:49:18.171-04:00Recency, man, recency!Recency, man, recency!Adam C.noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3953654.post-6890680282983620082014-05-23T09:48:14.216-04:002014-05-23T09:48:14.216-04:00I thought the whole thing was amusing....until he ...I thought the whole thing was amusing....until he brought up the Santa thing.
