The baseline rail is there, and it could be a 3 hour train ride, which marketed well (a la the NE corridor) could follow I-45 and relieve traffic both air and car between the cities.Mattnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3953654.post-689343018334671442012-04-14T18:03:55.971-04:002012-04-14T18:03:55.971-04:00This is as appropriate a time as any to link to So...This is as appropriate a time as any to link to Soul Coughing's "Brooklyn Girls By Train," even if Mike Doughty doesn't want me to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-yO1odyOtkisaac_spacemannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3953654.post-20861858249689062312012-04-14T17:05:23.639-04:002012-04-14T17:05:23.639-04:00I'm not saying I would use this as a travel me...I'm not saying I would use this as a travel method, just astounded that my littlw hometown has a direct if SUPER slow route here.Heather knoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3953654.post-51234414355172319622012-04-14T16:44:32.376-04:002012-04-14T16:44:32.376-04:00I thought the same thing! Also you can take a single train the whole way. You have to take a minimum of two planes. Of course the trip takes about 5 times as long (42 hours vs about 8 assuming an average layover at Seatac, Denver, or Minneapolis).Heather knoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3953654.post-69915123444037402672012-04-14T15:19:23.929-04:002012-04-14T15:19:23.929-04:00Heh.
