Mean Girls, or that "momentary teen smoking" was why
Hairspray was rated PG. Matineer has
gathered his 10 funniest MPAA explanations, including that "strong bloody ninja violence" warrants an R, "a bawdy puppet show" warrants a PG-13 (but "
graphic, crude and sexual humor, violent images and strong language; all involving puppets" can get you an NC-17), and "intense depiction of very bad weather" can get you a PG-13.
