STANLEY CUP DROUGHTS, A COMPARISON, 1975 v. 1961 (A.K.A., ADAM, HERE COME THE HAWKS):
Somewhat related... I was chatting with a friend who's a big Flyers fan earlier today. I told him my theory that Chicago was destined to win the Cup, because Philly played in the Winter Classic this year, and the previous 2 Stanley Cup losers both played in the Winter Classic earlier in that year. He retorted with his Marian Hossa theory, since the current Blackhawk played for the losing Red Wings last year, and the losing Penguins the year before. Looks like the third time will give undeniable proof to one of us.
ReplyDeleteThat video is simply delightful, but needs more fonts. (I love that it ends with the song being played by the old Chicago Stadium organ/)
ReplyDeleteI'm confused by that last stat. And on my list of things that have happened since the Flyers last won the Cup: my birth. Let's go Flyers!
ReplyDeleteSince the Flyers last won the Cup, 13 other franchises have won it (Montreal, NYI, Edmonton, etc.) and since the Hawks last won, 16 others have (Toronto, Boston, Montreal, etc.).
ReplyDeleteAh, how well I remember George Foster's illustrious career with the White Sox.
ReplyDeleteFrancisco Franco: Dead vs. Alive
ReplyDeleteAnd 2010: Still dead. That obviously favors the Flyers.
It's a truth universally acknowledged that Chicago fans are unbearable. Let's go Flyers!
ReplyDeleteGo Hawks!!!! Madhouse on Madison!
ReplyDeletehahahahahahahahahahahah
