In fairness to the guy, I'm pretty sure I'd be rendered incoherent if I met her in person, too. I have a hard time putting together rational thoughts when watching her on Firefly.
I still say the perfect post Mad Men project for her would be to do a HBO or SHO series of a Shaft reboot with her in the lead.
Scenario: Shaft, dies while vigorously enjoying the company of a certain curvaceous redheaded actress, and in that moment his soul and hers mesh.
Have her play a stylized version of herself, dealing with being an actress in hollywood, while moonlighting as a black private dick who's a sex machine to all the chicks (I'm thinking Curb Your Enthusiasm meets The Comeback meets Bored to Death with a side order of The Wire)
The potential for awesomeness of such a show is boundless...
She hasn't done just a ton of interviews, but I liked this one because she seemed refreshingly normal--a lot of the print stuff she's done seems very mannered/massaged to make her more "Joan"-like.
I have a hard time putting together rational thoughts when thinking about having previously watched her on Firefly. I'd risk that special hell, Shepherd.

Man I love YoSaffBridg. She is the ultimate scene stealer.

ReplyDeleteShaft sounds interesting. May I suggest a movie version of Ruby, the Galactic Gumshoe?
