HEY GIRL, I'D LIKE TO TRANSPORT YOU ACROSS STATE LINES FOR IMMORAL PURPOSES IN VIOLATION OF THE MANN ACT: Having addressed everything from
feminism to the peculiarities of the
Park Slope Food Co-Op, it was assuredly only a matter of time until the
Tumblr Law School Ryan Gosling existed. That said, I'm sure we can come up with some better suggestions.
I am, for obvious reasons, partial to this one: http://ryangoslingyoungadult.tumblr.com/
ReplyDeleteThe legal one isn't as good. Too easy.
ReplyDeleteBut of course: http://librarianheygirl.tumblr.com/ (There is a weird Venn diagram overlap in "People who submit to this tumbler" and "People who are seriously POed about damage to books")
ReplyDeleteAlthough in general, it's a bit disappointing - if the submissions were made by librarians I'm afraid we're only perpetuating our own stereotypes: "Don't hurt the books", "E-books bad", "Fines!", "Shelving." There's a whole world of information seeking behavior, metadata, authority control vs folksonomic tagging, questions of "fair use" and access issues, etc.
ReplyDeleteThe thing about the feminist RG is that it's really getting into the deep theory as opposed to superficialities or stereotypes.
Don't you mean the White-Slave Traffic Act?
ReplyDeleteWhy Ryan Gosling, exactly? Or generally?

ReplyDeletePhil have you seen the "hey girl" meme from the original tumblr? http://fuckyeahryangosling.tumblr.com/
