Weird personalt fact; I have exactly three Criterion Collection sets and two of them are David Bowie movies: The Man Who Fell To Earth and Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence

  2. I did not know until today that the lead guitarist on the Let's Dance album was Stevie Ray Vaughan.

My personal David Bowie trivia nugget is that he was in a quite cute little movie called _The Linguini Incident_ that I rented from a video store in the early '90s and quite enjoyed.   One of those things that I wouldn't have seen twice at the time but now would love to see again just to see if I remember anything from it accurately, but I think it's lost in the murky mists of back catalogues and/or music rights, etc.

Huh, directed by Richard Shephard, who had two movies in the 2000s that I really, really enjoyed/appreciated: The Matador and The Hunting Party.

    A couple of Bowie notes:

First, I saw David Bowie and Imam and a sushi place in Greenwich Village in around 2001.  That thing about the camera adding 20 pounds?  Even true in Imam's case.

Second, the attorney who did Bowie's catalogue securitization was at my first firm.  He also ended up securitizing Iron Maiden's catalog, but my efforts to see if I could get a deal toy with an Iron Maiden album in the lucite (noting I had nothing to do with the work) got me a puzzled comment from my own boss in my own office asking why I was contacting partners in other offices about such things.  My answer, "Because it would be fucking awesome" was not, apparently, the right answer.

Not a huge Richard Gere fan, but he's damn fine in Hunting Party (as is Terrence Howard as well as Jesse Eisenberg).

I think my husband may have married me because I did know that fact.
