I admit to having been very confused by that trailer, but intrigued at the same time (both by the historical inaccuracies and trying to figure out if the young hot guy doing most of the slaying is a younger Lincoln or maybe he's a secret agent of Lincoln's? Also, was Boothe undead?) I think I have a book to add to my reading list.
That's a modern shot (you can also see the Lincoln Memorial and the tall buildings in Arlington); it looks like the movie, like the book, will have a framing device set in the present.
I loved loved LOVED the book when I read it last summer. I was so excited when I saw the poster last time I went to the movies, I spent an hour online looking for trailers and news stories and what not.
Personally I have no problem with re-imagining Abe Lincoln as an action hero. I just hope the movie is not too screwed up to enjoy.
Yes, yes, the Washington Monument shouldn't be done. But damn if this doesn't look like fun.
