The difference between Boston and Philadelphia, the Boston fans are a little bit more hysterical when it comes to the game of baseball. The Philly fans tend to know the game a little better, being in the National League, you know, the way the game is played.
I love Papelbon to death. Dude's a dumbass.

Although he wasn't the same pitcher over the last couple of years as he was in 06-07, I'm gonna miss the big oaf. (At this point, his absence is the least of Boston's pitching problems.) I'm sure he'll fare well in the NL.
ReplyDeleteYou know I was totally fine with him going to the Phillies - didn't begrudge him a thing. I understand following the money, and I think he'll be more valuable in the NL. I was willing to basically give him a free pass for life...and then he goes and says this shit. Oh well, guy's a total moron. What can ya do.
ReplyDeleteRelatedly, my brother and I had a recent discussion (initiated by our love for Manny Ramirez) about what a member of the 2004 Sox would have to do to get us to hate them. I think we got all the way to "drown a baby."

ReplyDeleteInteresting; I was going to mock this a little, but then I was surprised to see that Papelbon, over 18 postseason games and however many interleague games, has never had even one at bat. This could be interesting to see.
Worked out well for AJ Burnett.
ReplyDeleteCheat in 2004?
ReplyDeleteNope.
ReplyDeleteI think it's inarguable that the Boston fans are hysterical. But Philly fans aren't? I guess it depends on how you define "hysterical."
ReplyDeleteRyan Madson had seven regular season PAs in the last five years; Brad Lidge had zero in his entire Phillies tenure. This is not an issue.
ReplyDeleteI believe what you're looking for is "hysterical (obs.): a neological disorder believed caused by dysfunction of the uterus and often characterized by anxiety, paranoia, and indecision."
ReplyDeleteNeological or Neurological?
ReplyDeleteneurological. Neological would be good, though.
