AND SO WE BEAT ON: I'm not going to get in the habit of reviewing credit sequences, but
Game of Thrones has one that keeps you watching, if only to see the new locations pop up. And while Astopol was a nice add and the Winterfell renovations a necessary mod, the most awe-inspiring changes to the sequence were the momentary flashes that suggested the beating of wings passing under our field of vision, and the brief spark of flame. So our views of the clockwork terrain came, all along, from the back of a dragon. Really well done.
What's truly impressive about the sequence is that not only does it change from season to season, but it changes from episode to episode based on what locations are relevant to that particular episode. It's also been interesting to see how billing order changes over the seasons and based on who's in the episode. Dinklage moved from an "and" credit in Season 1 to top-billed, for instance.
ReplyDeleteThere's a wiki which tracks the episode-by-episode changes to the credits: http://gameofthrones.wikia.com/wiki/Title_sequence . I've always been fond of the bridges snapping into place on Pyke.
ReplyDeleteThat's my favorite part too, the bridges.
ReplyDeleteI can't think of another show where I get more and more out of it just from watching the credits. Like it took me until season two to realize that the metal band thing that goes swinging around is telling the story of Westeros before the first season.
ReplyDeleteSince I watch most stuff on DVR, not live, I almost ALWAYS skip credits (I'll always watch once, with each new show, but almost never more than that. This is an exception. Parks and Rec is the other.

I walked down the aisle recently to the GoT theme tune. It was awesome and great marching music.
ReplyDeleteUp front is the sexcam same issue we had with the Pre, and Motorola seems to have put a lot of light to keep the power draw down in chips as their
ReplyDeleteperformance goes up. It's basically the same as it's always been, but there is a ring around the moon, it will bring a slew of options for
each source.

ReplyDeleteBetween your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to start my own blog
(well, almost...HaHa!) Excellent job. I really enjoyed what you had to say,
and more than that, how you presented it. Too cool!

Haven't the flashes always been there, as the camera moves past the rings of the astrolabe (the spinning rings thing)?
ReplyDeleteI haven't noticed them, but I distinctly thought I saw something that could have been wings beating, and will look closely this weekend.
