My favorite moment by FAR here is the young guy at about 3:25 who runs up the stairs, slides back down and then rips his shirt off, all the while hollering like a loon. I had to rewind it and watch again!
Mine is the clip immediately following -- a bunch of random people watching on a TV along the sidewalk, going nuts together without knowing each other at all.

Even though Ghana havn't been the hacktacular cheating dive artists they were in 2006, they still deserve to be stomped into the ground. American. Fuck Yeah. Ghana, fuck you.
Yeah, I'm a little wound up. I'm probably watching at home tomorrow and The Wife has already made plans to take The Child somewhere where my screaming profanity won't be heard.
My fiancée's Ghanaian. Her parents are in the country and meeting mine for the first time tomorrow. I need to cheer us on, but my actual life will probably be made worse if we lose. Pissed off future father-in-law doesn't sound like so much fun. Why couldn't England have won by more?
Ian - while I hope for a strong USA win, I think this is a fantastic bit of serendipity - something you'll be telling your kids for the next fifty years. Initial future in-law meetings can be occasionally a trick but are rarely, in the long run, memorable. This one will be!
I'll be working booooooo but I will have one of the non-RapidAir computers set to watching the game! This actually works out well, since the Mr. does not so much enjoy the sports.
In the context of a sporting event, sure. France and Italy have now paid back for ruining the 2006 WC with their cheating/diving, now it's Ghana's turn.
Ghana played a decent game and waited until their 2nd goal to start flopping around like a shotgunned fish. Good for them. For USA, a very frustrating and disappointing World Cup. Defense continues to suck and while they're playing a more attacking style of offense, no one can score. There's enough talent to beat anyone and enough tsuris to lose to anyone.
US Soccer needs to take a time out and start holding seminars from the youngest rec leagues up through the national teams. Use flip charts, flow charts, even Power Point if it'll help. Whatever it takes to emphasize that:
a. Here's the other team with the ball. See them run with the ball. b. Here's your goalie. Doesn't he look lonely. c. Stand the fuck between them.
Ghana's passing was pretty to watch. But what frustrated me was: the USA steals the ball from Ghana, they calmly pursue and take it back. Ghana steals the ball from the USA, we immediately hack the stealer and draw a yellow.
America. Fuck yeah.

The NYC clip was outside Paragon sports on Broadway -- you just don't see New Yorkers bonding like that. Chills-level cool.
