- Drink every time a category does not include the best possible nominee (e.g., the absence of Lauren Graham in Best Actress--Comedy)
- Drink every time CBS promotes its Monday comedy lineup, either as a whole or for an individual show.
- Drink every time Marc Cherry or J.J. Abrams is thanked. Drink twice if either win an award.
