IT'S PROVOCATIVE!  IT GETS THE PEOPLE GOING!  With the (apparently awful) Get Hard arriving in theaters on Friday, Vulture ranks all 27 films in which Will Ferrell appears in a lead or supporting role (excluding voice roles and cameos).  Argue away.

  1. They screwed up and forgot The Ladies' Man, which was an OK movie in which Ferrell was afreakingmazing.

I think Other Guys is a bit too high, and part of it is exactly the thing that they praise; the bizarre and hateful-feeling Eva Mendes scenes really left a bad taste in my mouth.

  3. I'm not big on Will Ferrell's comedy movies, but I checked out this list mainly to see where "Stranger Than Fiction" falls - and it's too low (and underappreciated) at #9.

    Absolutely. That's a wonderful movie.

Underrated: DICK. May not be a great Will Ferrell Movie, but it is a great, fun movie.

Overrated: OLD SCHOOL. It doesn't get the formula quite right, and the third act could have been so much better.

I had no idea he was Mustafa in Austin Powers. As much as I like him as a comedian I've skipped most of his movies because they sound unappealingly loud and crass.

So "Stranger Than Fiction" is at the top of my list. I have it on my iPod and sometimes I'll just listen to it while driving, like an audiobook.

Much like Wedding Crashers (which has a Ferrell cameo), Old School third act is lousy (as is virtually anything with Luke Wilson in this one), but people tend to ignore that because they enjoy the earlier antics. I've never felt all that compelled to revisit either.
