"I WANT TO GO MAKE A COMEDY LIKE THE ONES I USED TO MAKE": Bill Murray opens up to GQ. Much discussion as to the status of Ghostbusters 3, and a whole lot of (possible) insight into a guy who doesn't talk very often.

I might pay good money to hear the audio on the Garfield segment.

  2. FWIW, Garfield was written by Joel Cohen, who, with his screenwriting partner, has been riding the goodwill off apparently doing the first draft/concept for Toy Story for years now.  Subsequent work includes Money Talks, Cheaper By The Dozen, Evan Almighty, and Daddy Day Camp.  When even Eddie Murphy turns down your film because it stinks, you know you're in trouble.

(And while his explanation for Garfield is somewhat convincing, why'd he come back for a second one?)

I can't wait for the day that someone comes up behind me in NY and it's Bill Murray. I don't even care that no one will ever believe me.

  4. I love Bill Murray.  By the way, he's on Letterman on Wednesday.  That's always a good interview.

  5. Gods.  He's right.  (About what?  About everything!)  Especially Kung Fu Hustle.  If you haven't, you absolutley must.

I totally second Phil, it is just awesome all over that is dipped and rolled in some more awesome.  Also Kung Fu Hustle is NOT Kung Fu Panda (I had to check IMDB because for a few minutes I was way confused).

What Heather said, and: I will never again make fun of my Dad's yellow, tape measure suspenders.  Amen.

My guess is they paid him through the nose and he figured "I've gone this far..."  Or maybe he thought he'd have a chance at hooking up with J. Love Hewitt.

  9. The interview with Zach Galifianakis, Paul Rudd and Tracy Morgan is interesting, too: http://www.gq.com/entertainment/humor/201008/tracy-morgan-paul-rudd-zach-galifianakis-comedy-issue

Is Zach the heir to Bill Murray?
