THIS IS A WEIRD PLACE TO WORK: I'm still not 100% sold on Covert Affairs--yes, it reminds me of a less convoluted Alias, but Piper Perabo is no Jennifer Garner, and Peter Gallagher is neither SpyDaddy nor Evil Uncle Arvin--but I am 100% sold on the cool opening credits, which are kind of a cross between the opening credits of Chuck and the great Catch Me If You Can opening credits. (Also, Sendhil Ramamurthy is much less annoying when he doesn't have to spout pretentious voiceover.)

Anne Dudek is in this? Darn - might have to watch now.

  2. Dudek is kind of wasted, at least thus far, as the lead's sister, who thinks she works "at the Smithsonian."  I rather suspect there will turn out to be more to the part than this, at least based on Isaac's prior scholarship in the area.

  3. i hope dudek turns out to be an evil sleeper spy for some bad, bad country. the schtick of the show is fun enough, but so far there's nothing deeper to keep me interested, and a bigger, more interesting role for dudek might do the trick.

It would be great if Dudek worked for the FBI and was investigating the CIA's deployment within the U.S.  Could you imagine her doing the perp walk with her sister?

More likely she's a Russian spy.  After all, the good ones look like Americans and have families here.

  5. Just want to agree with everyone that: what a waste of a Dudek.  She should be in the Perabo role, because she sells smart and badass.  (My husband: she's not classically pretty enough for them to have cast her.  Me:  not sure.  CB was very severe looking, but Dudek is beautiful.)

  6. How is this show not just Chuck in a dress?  She has to hide the fact she works for the CIA?
