ANOTHER HUNDRED PEOPLE JUST BOUGHT A TICKET: Because I waited so long, I had to shell out more than I probably should have for my NPH in Company tickets, but yes, I'm going to see it from the back of the orchestra--the final casting, which added Christina Hendricks as airhead flight attendant April, Katie Finneran as neurotic bride Amy, Craig Bierko, and Jon Cryer, cinched it. Full review will come afterwards.

  1. We bought our tickets the day they went onsale, solely on the basis of NPH.  The additions since - particularly LuPone - have only made us happier we're flying across the continent for this.  And now Christina Hendricks?  I'm gayer than Christmas, but she gets MY pulse racing.  (AND we've got Book of Mormon and Priscilla and Anything Goes tickets.  Already the best vacation ever.)

  2. So jealous.  I was supposed to have a big trip (argument in the Virgin Islands) that got cancelled (apparently, the court would rather hold the argument in Philly), so I didn't snag tickets.  Sigh.

  3. I'm in Seattle that weekend for a conference and upset that I'll be missing the show. I would have seen it based on NPH and the fact that I love Company, the rest of the cast just makes me more frustrated that I'll be out of town. See, nothing good ever comes from leaving NYC. *sigh*

Anyone got an extra?  I am a sparkling post-show conversationalist!  ...and I'll pay for the ticket.

  6. I cannot wait! (and the mister cannot wait to see Christina Hendricks from the orchestra seats.)

I can say from experience Paul is an exceptional Plus One.

Well, there's a time to come to New York and a time to leave. (Sadly, this was not a good Leaving Time.)

I'm telling myself that the likelihood of this being broadcast have just gone from Damn Good to Near Certainty. Right? Right?!

Looking forward to full reports from you wise and lucky ducks.

I bought tickets right after NPH was announced, and have only gotten more and more excited to see it!  I might be even more excited than my husband about Christina Hendricks.

    This is painful.

On the one hand:  NPH, Christina Hendricks, Katie Finneran, AND Craig Bierko?!

On the other hand:  I have vowed to see no more Sondheim because I hate it.

Ow ow ow ow.  My brain hurts.

  12. It's pretty well sold out.  There are now probably less than 100 seats still available across the 4 performances.  I grabbed almost the last 2 for the Saturday matinee this morning.

  13. I imagine this is next up for the PBS musical/concert series. And by imagine, I mean I really hope it's next up.

Holy cow, Jill Paice is in it.  Now I'm kicking myself for not making sure we got there.  They have GOT to tape this and show it on PBS, though - it's exactly the kind of thing they tape.  Right?
