Yup, that's a Bruce single alright. And did I miss an announcement about the album title and release date? iTunes (in Canada, at least) says it's called "Wrecking Ball" and is coming out March 6, and both of those bits of info are new to me.
Adam C. is getting excited! I don't find much to disagree with in the Hitfix review of the single, plus there's lots of info there about the new album, which seems to confirm Randy's info about the "Wrecking Ball" title (that's what iTunes US says this morning as well, and no, I didn't see an announcment either). Things that are of minor concern: the overdubs/loops in the single are distracting and the chorus/verse ratio leans too much to chorus. Also, I count two not-so-brand-new songs on the track list (Wrecking Ball and Land of Hope and Dreams), plus another, American Land, as a bonus track. LoHaD and American Land have already been released as live tracks, and Wrecking Ball was played a good bit at the tail end of the last tour (debuted when he was closing down Giants Stadium, reworded in Philly to close down the Spectrum, etc.). So that's three songs out of 13 that fans will have heard before and probably already own in live/bootleg versions.
