IN MY VIEW, AS GOOD AS THE YANKEES WERE IN THE FIRST HALF OF THIS GAME, THAT'S HOW AS BAD THEY'VE BEEN NOW:  Tim McCarver will retire from the booth after this baseball season. Deion Sanders could not yet be reached for comment.

I look forward to being able to watch the World Series again. In 2014.

Instead of "Deion Sanders acts like a jerk towards Tim McCarver," that youtube video should read "Deion Sanders attempts to electrocute Tim McCarver for the good of humanity."

Bill, you beat me to the punch. Bravo, Deion. Bra. Vo.

  3. Sadly, we're still stick with the Jack-Buck-wannabe.

Hello, this weekend is fastidious in favor of me, for the reason that this time
i am reading this enormous educational piece of writing here at my residence.

Joe Morgan and Tim McCarver both off of my television? Life is good. (Trying to ignore the Joe-Buck-elephant in the room.)

I understand that it's tough to defend McCarver's work with Fox. But back in the '80s, when he was doing color for New York Mets telecasts, he really was very good -- and much more interesting than his peers. But something that's interesting the first time you say it grows less interesting when you're saying it for the 200th time. I think McCarver just wore out his welcome.

It's not the inanity of the stuff that Joe Buck or Tim McCarver that grate on me. I mean, even the truly great baseball guys - Vin Scully, Jon Miller - say some pretty pedestrian stuff. But the good ones allow the sounds of the ball game in. And the great knows know *when* to let the sounds of the game take over. Joe Buck and Tim McCarver just never ever shut up.
