FERECITO:  The bandleader for Late Night with Seth Meyers will be Fred Armisen; "Fred will curate and lead the band, and continue to run it even when he's off shooting Portlandia."

I know this is a minority position, but I find Fred Armisen consistently hilarious.

Well, he would be one of my top two choices from the cast of Portlandia. (Unless Kyle MacLachlen counts, in which case it would be top three.)

    Oh Dios Mio! (Just Kidding!)

I was hoping that Electric Mayhem would stick around from their Fallon appearance and be the house band, with Kermit would as the announcer/sidekick.

I'm not with you on consistently, but when he hits it kills.

So we can all hope for a Trenchmouth reunion?

(No, seriously, I want a Trenchmouth reunion now.)

I wonder if Fred Armisen having greater or equal to name recognition will be a problem for Seth Meyers. I can't think of another show off the top of my head where the band leader is more or equally recognized as the host (maybe The Roots/Jimmy Fallon?). It's not that it can't be done, it's that it hasn't been done.

  7. Um, really? I can't say that particularly entices me. I've also found his preview ads for the new Late Night show to be really not-funny. I get that doing a late night show often takes settling in, so maybe a year from now, it will seem like Seth Meyers was an awesome choice for the host slot, but so far, not feeling it.
