IT'S ABOUT TIME for Rita Moreno!!! I'm so thrilled about her (and Cicely Tyson, obviously) that I'll overlook The Eagles.

This almost makes up for replacing Cicely Tyson with Michael Che.

I think the Eagles are...just fine. And that's it. I'm befuddled by both the ire they get and the praise they get, and this.

  5. I can't speak to the source of The Dude's ire.

I adore Seiji Ozawa and I'm thrilled he's included. For more Seiji Ozawa hijinks, please see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_k8oICRBH4&feature=youtu.be

  7. You've gotta assume J.J. Abrams and/or Spielberg present to Lucas, and that Jessie Mueller performs, right?

Heh, as a child of the '70s, Rita Moreno was mostly a TV presence to me, but your point is of course correct.

I was going to see if she was the first honoree to have performed at an inauguration, but Yo Yo Ma came to mind and I'm sure there are others.

Spielberg or Ron Howard to Lucas. And so many performers for King -- really, they can plug in anyone with that songbook.

So, four people whom i assumed had already been honored, and one garbage selection.
