THE FLORRICKGIRL VIDEO: I would like to believe that the Smoke Monster is a smart enough State's Attorney that he won't keep assigning Cary to prosecute every single case defended by Lockhart/Gardner, especially if he keeps losing like this. Add to that the unreality of the alleged conflicts situation (although if you're going to double-down on the random cameos, Joe Trippi's a nice step from Vernon Jordan), and you've got an episode of The Good Wife that's a bit low on the legal realism if high, as always, on the fun details -- Will Gardner as Chicago's 16th most eligible bachelor, a military judge on The Cleanse, the aforementioned video (which I hope will be released in full) and the return of Zach's shit-stirring techie girlfriend Becca.  Yes, I like this show.

I really like the continued development of the Eli Gold character - OF COURSE he's telling the son, "Go away, kid, you bother me" without realizing that the kids might actually have some information he needs to know.  I mean, wasn't it Gold that warned the family about trackers?  And aren't trackers generally going to be younger people?  It's his hubris that's not putting the two and two together and realizing how much the kids are targets and that he does need to be paying attention to them.

  2. I missed some episodes last season, so I was a bit lost on Becca's story. What did she do last season?

Otherwise, I really enjoyed this episode, especially the military court.  I have no idea how realistic the legal parts of this show are, but I was entertained by the way Will's usual tactics wouldn't fly in military court.

  3. She had set up an anonymous Twitter account which was saying disparaging (and often true) things about the state of the Florrick marriage.    First they thought it was Cary, then one of the kids, then Eli figured out it was her and confronted Becca at school. Via IMDb+other sources, here's what Eli said:

You know what you have been? Gum on the bottom of my shoe. Spoiled little brat who will get pregnant at 17 have an abortion at 18 and meet some sweaty frat boy over Spring Break and work as a dental hygienist until the day you die.... See, I have a lot of friends.  I’m sure you do, too. The difference is, my friends are not in home room.  If you tweet—have you seen ‘Drag Me to Hell’? It will be just like that.

Haven't watched it yet because I chose to watch the Smoke Monster manipulating the IRA on Sons of Anarchy.

  5. Wow.  I'll have to catch that one in reruns!  I don't always like Alan Cumming, but I love him in this role.

  6. I hate the kids.  Hate them.  Over and over they find something out and keep it secret only to realize that keeping it secret was worse then if they had just told their parents.  Get a clue kids.  Crappy storytelling.

Otherwise, I like the show quite a bit.

  7. Re "Kids, Stupid": you know how in the Twitter episode Becca got caught because Eli figured out the IP address was from the Florrick's apartment?

They just did the same thing with the fake Facebook page.

I think this was my favorite episode of the series ever. JAG trial, Will deliberately going to jail, Alicia reading the military code and calling Cary to the stand-- awesomeness.

    Also enjoyed Eli Gold's meltdown.

I had the exact same thought.  These supposedly technologically savvy kids are setting up this account on the Florrick home computer?  Which any motivated staffer from the opposing campaign will be likely to trace?  Annoying brats + lazy storytelling = unnecessary low point in an otherwise engaging show.

  10. I love this show, but I'm not a big fan of the celebrity cameos. I'm hoping that doesn't become a regular thing.
