Back in October, by only 3 points. (Incidentally, that made the Seahawks 3-2, after which they went 4-7 for the season.) As a Bears fan, I'm not horribly worried, what with not having huge injuries like the Saints did.
This was posted on Deadspin, so I assume most people have seen it, but on the off-chance you haven't the Marshawn Lynch TD set to the Super Mario invincibility star music is the single greatest thing in the whole wide history of ever.
As a Packers fan, I am psyched for Atlanta next week!
Incidentally, I didn't think the Seahawks looked like a 7-9 team, but watching both games yesterday, I've decided that nothing is predictable in the postseason this year except the Patriots.
Indulge me one pet peeve: The Lynch touchdown wouldn't have happened if a couple of the Saints tried to tackle the runner instead of stripping the ball. Tracy Porter, I'm looking at you especially.
I don't know that Porter's attempt is so bad, given where he is (this is the one around the 35, right?) Once Lynch has the first down, it seriously increases the chances that Seattle will be able to run the clock out, so you might as well try to get the turnover. Surely, someone else will be able to stop him if you miss both the ball and the tackle, right? Right?
On the other hand, if the defenders at and just after the line of scrimmage were trying to strip the ball, that's a bad idea. If they weren't, well, someone needs a quick refresher on tackling.
As a Chiefs fan, as soon as I saw the Seattle score, I knew we had no chance to win. And next year's schedule looks far less rosy than this years... I was 8 when the Chiefs last won a playoff game. I'm now 25, and will be at least 26 before the next chance. Being a Royals fan isn't much solace, either.
Who would host the Packers if it came to that.

The Seahawks are 2-6 on the road. They can't win in Chicago. When was the last time they ... ok, forget I said anything.

I'm sorry for the Eagles--wish it had gone differently.
ReplyDeleteBut I'm rejoicing in a Manning-free post-season.

Related--it gets recreated in Tecmo Super Bowl.

It's the one just below and to the side of his bad back.
ReplyDeleteHow about, we'd love one that you can't whine about? :-)
