THEY HAVE A BALANCED DIET OF SANDWICHES AND PENS: BBC America's Youtube Channel explains Law & Order: UK. Excellent combination of promotion and self-mockery.
But why is Fat Apollo thin and speaking with a British accent?
I've only watched a couple of episodes of L&O:UK, but honestly, it's more effective and interesting than LOLA, because even though it's basically just US scripts tweaked (Wiki has the parallels), there's a real difference there unlike LOLA, where we just get "IT'S LA!" crammed down our throats every five minutes.
I really like L&O: UK, with the notable exception of Freema Agyeman. She was never my favorite companion on Doctor Who, and I really, really don't like her Alesha character. I can believe all the other characters as real people, but she seems like such a "TV person."
From what I've caught, I'm really enjoying the Lenny Briscoe analogue (I can't remember the actor's name, but I seem to remember he's mostly a comedic actor by trade).
by never my favorite companion I mean I hated her as a companion so much I NEARLY gave up on Who except I knew that more Donna was coming, and I. LOVE. Donna!
This just makes me sad that we don't have BBC America. I would gladly trade many in fact all of our ESPNs for one sinlge BBC America because my fiancee and I are that NPR podcasting, highish income for our peers, kinda liberal couple. We just are. I mean we often go to the jazz showcase on the weekends for fun! We are also not old people, this makes us an odd (and very memorable to the cocktail waitress and bartenders) couple out.
Hey, I just thought of this: what if you watched the entire run of Battlestar Galactica but imagined Apollo with a scarf and a British accent? Just throwing that out there.

ReplyDelete"They only walk by the river when the camera pans like THIS..."
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the video (and love me some skinny Apollo). Genius.
ReplyDeleteI didn't want to spoil it in the header, but my favorite was "they hate setting things down gently!"
ReplyDeleteThey do love their scarves.
