BELVEDERED:  Yes, there are places that tonight's 30 Rock went that few television shows will go, a close runner-up to the season two explanation that you can't have a Lemon party without Old Dick. "Bagel-y" as an adjective? In a week in which the ability of women to be hired as writers is very much in the air, this episode was firing on all cylinders and gave Jack Donaghy yet another worthy adversary.  Kick. Ass.

  1. Credit to 30 Rock for finding new ways to bite that hand that feeds it with a nasty parody of one of Comcast-owned E!'s biggest stars.

Kudos to the show for the excellent Jezebel.com reference as well.

  4. Chloe Moretz was awesome as well.  I thought she conveyed Bieber Fever very well.

It's crazy to think how funny this episode was and that Tracy wasn't even in it.  How many shows can be funny without one of their main actors?  The Office certainly won't be able to.

  5. I read the new female writer (at least her "slutty baby talk" persona) as a nasty Chelsea Handler jab.

  6. The interwebs seem to think it was Olivia Munn and/or Sarah Silverman.

I thought it seemed pretty defensive.  Acknowledging criticism and using it to make fun of yourself can be brilliantly funny (Arrested Development), but it can also seem pouty and delusional (Glee).  This fell on the pouty (but not delusional) side.
