NOT DEFYING GRAVITY:  Yes, of course, seeing normally terrestrial man falling through space is cool, but it's not as neat as this time-lapse photography of the usually-seen-in-flight Space Shuttle Endeavour making its way through the streets of Los Angeles.

  1. Oh YAY! So glad you posted this....one of my favorite things our photo team has done. If you have time, the whole photo gallery is pretty great, especially shots that show how narrow the route was at certain points: http://framework.latimes.com/2012/10/12/space-shuttle-endeavour-2/#/44.

I wish we could have the audio of the quintessential LA conversation beforehand.

    -Which way're you going?
-I was thinking of the 405 to the 10 to like Crenshaw, maybe.
-Are you kidding me? At rush hour?
-Yeah, now that you say it ...
-You know what, take La Tijera to La Cienega, and ...
-You wouldn't take Century to the 405 on-ramp shortcut?
    -Usually, but low overpass.
    -Right.
-So LaCienega to ... don't tell anybody, but all the way to Sixth.
    -Sixth?
-Yeah, and cut through Hancock Park on Sixth, then take like Commonwealth to Wilshire. It's only a block, but you miss all Wilshire lights all the way through No Man's Land.
-Oh, Koreatown? Funny. No Man's Land.
-Yeah, the downside is no Pinkberry on the route.
-I can't parallel park this thing anyway.
-When can anybody park legally by Pinkberry?
    -For sure.

That was amazing! I was actually tensing up with the residential neighborhood and whether they could get past that tree.
