IT DID WORK OUT PRETTY WELL FOR TRENT REZNOR: Jay-Z will be scoring Baz Luhrmann's upcoming The Great Gatsby, following a first trailer prominently featuring "No Church In The Wild" off Watch The Throne. This solidifies my initial impression that the movie is almost certainly a contender for "Hottest Mess of 2013."

So far, either that or Oz for me.
ReplyDeleteOz doesn't have the aspiration to be anything more than just a reasonably fun time at the movies. Gatsby, on the other hand, seems to be desperately trying to Say Something Important, which, IMHO, makes it more of a hot mess.
ReplyDeleteOh, I don't know; the Oz trailers seem to be weirdly self-important for a Raimi movie. If I had to rank them, Car Chase Gatsby would be ahead, but I think Oz has potential for this.
