found dead in his NYC apartment this afternoon, and other reports suggest that it may have been the
product of his ongoing addiction issues. I didn't like every movie he made, but he invariably delivered interesting performances, be it in an indie or a blockbuster, as a flawed hero or a strangely sympathetic villain.
