GIGANTES! GIGANTES! GIGANTES!: 3 World Series in 5 years really is more than any fan of any team could hope for in a lifetime. But, man, that was fun. The Royals were terrific and to have the World Series down to a single swing of the bat is all a fan of this game should want.
Sorry that this is, likely, Pablo Sandoval's last game as a Giant, but fat guys always can find a home as a designated not-fielder in the American League. I'll miss him. And wish him well.
My namesake tried to make things interesting in the ninth.
ReplyDeleteThe Giants should start the movement for the NL to adopt the DH and then Pablo can stay with them! Everyone wins!
ReplyDeleteBoy, howdy!
ReplyDeleteProblem is Brian Sabean and Pablo Sandoval are apparently more than $8M/year apart. He's not a Giant next year, which makes me sad.
ReplyDeleteWhy baseball? Because last night. Two very appealing and talented teams, and drama to the last at bat. Hope we continue to see the Royals making things interesting in the postseason for a while. Hope someone in the Phillies' offices has learned a lesson about collecting and then being patient with young talent. (Apropos of which, I'm anticipating big things from the Cubs, and soon, with Maddon and all those phenoms.)
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly it. This was the 2010 WS Roster - the guys in bold were on all three teams. (Ishikawa wasn't with the team in 2012, but obviously back this year -- and Cain was off for injury). Find talent and stick with it.
