Watts sent this to me a little while ago after asking what my favorite musical is* and apparently I broke Ms. Wilson's scale. (But as a large fan of his, the Jason Robert Brown line is pretty damn great.)
*Movie: Seven Brides For Seven Brothers (sorry, Linda Holmes), Stage: Assassins.
This made me love Mara Wilson even more than I did already, which I didn't think was possible. Her Ira Glass saga is also pretty great. (starts here but read the two updates after: http://marawilsonwritesstuff.com/an-open-letter-to-ira-glass/)
My college audition monologue was an edited (by me) version of Booth's scene with Oswald. If you think about it it's pretty one-sided. How long did it take you to realize the opening carousel melody is "Hail to the Chief?" It took me a shockingly long time.

ReplyDeleteOn musicals or the writer of the article?
ReplyDeleteOn anything. According to her. ;) (I'm a Sweeney guy.)
