THIS IS NOT WHAT I WANT, THIS IS NOT WHAT I PLANNED -- AND I JUST GOTTA SAY I DO NOT UNDERSTAND: And the winner of the award for First
High School Musical Cast Member To Give Up On Hopes Of Broader Stardom And Agree To Cash In With Another Spinoff is Ashley Tisdale,
who'll be starring for the fourth time as Sharpay Evans in "Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure," a made-for-the-Disney-Channel movie on her character's efforts to make it on Broadway. Next stop: DwtS?
I don't know if she is giving anything up, really. Of all the cast members, she's had the most experience with the Disney Channel. Throw in Suite Life and Phineas and Ferb, she's had a pretty good five year run there. What's one more movie at that point? It's not like she's Zac Efron. She's a character comedy actress (and she should have kept the nose). She can wait another couple of years before doing failed sitcom pilots or supporting 'best friend' roles in rom-coms.
ReplyDeleteShe's one of the leads in a CW pilot.
ReplyDeleteSHe's Candace! SHe's already eternal.
ReplyDeleteI liked the nose! And I agree with the career trajectory described here. Besides, it seems to me that unless you're Julia Roberts, being a character comedy actress gives you way more career longevity than being an ingenue.
