There is, or used to be anyway, an exit off I-75 south of Atlanta somewhere, that had 5 Waffle Houses within sight of the highway. That seemed a bit excessive to me, but as I recall, it was in an area where there wasn't much else, so maybe the interstate and local traffic served that many.
I always ordered my hash browns scattered, covered, chunked and diced (that's with cheese, ham and tomatoes). Haven't been to a Waffle House in ages, though. I'm thinking maybe I need to rectify that post-Peachtree Road Race this Sunday. ;)
I <3<3<3 Waffle House. I just go for scattered & covered, though. Also: I have witnessed my younger brother consume hash browns all the way. Truly an awe-inspiring sight.
Funny follow-up to my original comment: Waffle House was one of the corporate sponsors of the Road Race this year, and there were a number of Waffle House corporate employees in my start wave. They were wearing the best race shirts ever- dri-fit t-shirts with the Waffle House logo on the front and back, and on the back, underneath the logo, the slogan "No grits. No glory." I was so sad that the only money I had with me was Marta fare, because I was told they were selling those at the Waffle House tent in the park.
Peachtree Road Race = largest 10K in the country, btw. 55,000 people running down Peachtree Street to Piedmont Park, every July 4th. It's quite a spectacle!

ReplyDeleteThis map is wrong. There are two Waffle Houses in Michigan.
ReplyDeleteAre you sure? According to the Waffle House site -- using their restaurant locator -- there are none. Michigan does have Waffle House of America.
ReplyDeleteI hate the imposter Waffle Houses! I stopped in one in Indiana, and immediately left.

Ooh---I'd love one of those t-shirts! Congrats on the race, Patricia.
ReplyDeleteOh. My. God.
ReplyDeleteI clicked and music started. I will spend my remaining days ensuring that no one ever goes to that restaurant.
