PHONE RINGS, DOOR SLAMS, IN COMES MY TICKET ORDER: In the great Venn Diagram of things that hit the ALOTT5MA sweet spot,
Neil Patrick Harris in a New York Philharmonic production of Company this Spring would seem to basically hit the bullseye. Yes, parts of the book are dated, and yes, Bobby is a rather inert character for much of the show, but this could be very very interesting. (Other casting suggestions are encouraged.)
Squee!
ReplyDeleteYESSSSS!
ReplyDeleteAwesome. And if anyone reading this post has not yet purchased Finishing the Hat, I implore you to buy it ASAP. It's fantastic.
ReplyDeleteOh...my.
ReplyDeleteGiven the pretty minimal chance that I'll get to see it, I really hope there's a video or at least audio recording of the performance made available.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I second the recommendation for Finishing the Hat. I like to think that there's a generation of songwriters out there who are going to read it and be both inspired and educated.

Hoping to get "Finishing the Hat" from my husband for the holidays... Absolutely LOVED the Sondheim birthday concert on PBS!
ReplyDeleteJust got Finishing the Hat for the last night of Hanukkah!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, please, people-in-charge, video this performance!
Of course Barney would consider the ending tragic.
