ENOUGH WITH THE PALLADIUM-CATALYZED CROSS COUPLINGS IN ORGANIC SYNTHESIS STUFF: Can someone please explain to me how it could possibly be the case that the Nobel Committee continually fails to award one of its prizes to the inventor of the
Magic Eraser? Mr. Clean, my grout, walls, and shower doors thank you.
My favorite use of the Magic Eraser is making my Chucks look like new.
ReplyDeleteWell, duh! It's right there in the name - there is no Nobel Prize for Magic.
ReplyDeleteIt IS magic; if there is science involved I don't want to know about it
ReplyDeleteI was skeptical, but it's perfect for cleaning the aluminum casing of my MacBook.
ReplyDeletePerfect timing on this post - we just watched "The Prestige" last night, and the parallels to Magic Eraser are downright uncanny.
ReplyDeleteI used it yesterday to clean finger prints from the mat (matte?) in a picture frame-- I had just handled pictures right off the printer and must have had ink on my fingers. I don't understand how it works on so many things but I am glad it does!
ReplyDeleteJust be careful! I used it on a painted wall to remove scuff marks once. By the time I finished, we literally had to repaint the wall! I guess I should have tested in an inconspicuous location, first. Other than that, all other uses have been great!
ReplyDeleteOn the topic of cleaning...can anyone suggest a sure-fire way to get a streak-free shine on glass? I've tried Windex and Glass Plus, but I still find residue and some streaks (which I try to buff away, but it's annoying). I've got some big mirrors and I need help! Oh...shower doors too. Thanks in advance!
ReplyDeleteWe have an ultra contemporary, all white apartment, and we would die without the magic eraser. We have used it almost exlcusively on our white painted walls to get out scuff marks and we have never had a problem.
ReplyDeleteI have found vinegar to be a great window cleaner (i think a little bit diluted with distilled water-and the distilled is KEY) AND even more important, I do not use a towel or a rag but newspaper. Plain old newspaper. That actually seems to be even more key.
