- Fear our floppy-headed Neighbours to the North: both Laura Newcombe and Veronica Penny believe they went 25/25 today.
- Paging Isaac: There is another. The Mattsassin has a sister in this year's competition.
- Ohio's Matthew Cecil headed into the District to rub Albert Einstein's head for good luck.
- Also Bee blogging? Mirle Shivashankar, Kavya and Vanya's dad, who today discusses some of his favorites in this year's competition.
And a reminder: the competition continues tomorrow morning at 8am with the first of two live preliminary rounds of the day. See you then, and I am so glad to see so many new participants here this year.
Can't wait for all the great Bee commentary. This week marks 25 years since I was in the Bee. It has changed a lot since then, but I still feel an anxious thrill every time I see a speller step up to the microphone.
ReplyDeleteWhich ESPN? My directv isn't showing it. Happy to get up early, but wanna be sure it's not taped delayed.
ReplyDeleteESPN3 -- i.e., online only tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI was hoping for ESPN8, The Ocho, to have picked up coverage.
ReplyDeleteGood to see the Shivashankar blog mentioning the Blacklocks, which I was going to do at some point this year anyway.
ReplyDeleteFive siblings, seven bees. Has any family had more?
Today is one of those days when I'm missing my prior jobs in which I had to do a lot less, well, actual work. It was much easier to follow along with the Bee. Looking forward to checking in with the commentary again this year.
