SCHNEEBLY!  Andrew Lloyd Webber has optioned the rights to produce School of Rock: The Musical. Other than the fact that that's an awful lot of young performers to be carrying an eight-times-a-week production, at least as many as Annie, sounds to me like an idea which could work, and not just for the "Edge of Seventeen" number.

Word is he wants Ice-T for the lead role.

  2. I'm on board with this. (By the way, I just noticed that for someone sipping their beer, Joan Cusack takes a pretty damn hefty swig there.)

Kinda hanging off the "awful lot of young performers" line - we just saw Matilda, and the kids there are pretty awesome, and from the playbill I think they have a pretty good way to rotate them in and out.

It opens this week, so buy tickets now before the round of reviews that's going to push availability out several months.

The only thing in here that I have ANY problem with at all is the involvement of Andrew Lloyd Weber.

    Exactly, on both counts.
