THEY REALLY SHOULD'VE PAINTED AN GIANT "S" ON HIS SHELL:  Saw Turbo with the girls. In short, Turbo = Ratatouille + Indy car racing - cooking + Magical Negro and Latino and Asian helper-snails (or, more charitably, "matter-of-fact multiculturalism"). It is not essential, but other than Ken Jeong's shtick there's nothing particularly bad about it. Still, our relatively-empty theater was not unusual.

I have zero interest in seeing a movie that "there's nothing particularly bad about." We'll just stay home and watch The Music Man for the umpteenth time.

Why should they have painted an "S" on his shell?

I found it pretty boring, but the kids around me seemed to dig it, so I'd guess taking one's kids would be a requirement. But really, all these movies are starting to have the EXACT same plot line. At least Brave shook things up with its creepy bear.

  4. So with two losers in one weekend, I'm not seeing any blowback on Ryan Reynolds. Everything that mentions him puts the blame in other places. Justified as that may be, I can't imagine listing him as a name star after this weekend.

I think I know the answer to this one. It's a joke about a snail.. something about the crowd cheering "Watch that 'S' car go!" Adam, I'm sure you can fill in the blanks. My younger daughter told me that joke.

  6. Because, on the snail's planet, the S stands for hope?
