FROM THE ALOTT5MA OCCASIONAL GENEROSITY DESK: A guest post from commenter Sue, with many interesting items below the fold.

The Playwrights Horizons Online Auction is back! As you may know, I work for Playwrights Horizons, an Off Broadway theater dedicated to American writers and new work. (Our 2013 world premiere production of The Flick by Annie Baker just took home the 2014 Pulitzer Prize for Drama!) Each year, to raise funds to support productions of new plays and musicals (such as the world premieres of Clybourne Park, Grey Gardens, I Am My Own Wife and many more), we hold an Online Auction. Most of the items take place in NYC, but there are also set visits and tapings in L.A., theater packages in Chicago and Seattle, and amazing trips to locations around the world.

Best of all, there are dozens of items in the world of pop culture, theater, and sports that I think will interest the gang here, including:

Go to an opening night at Playwrights Horizons with HIMYM’s Cristin Milioti
Visit to the Los Angeles set of Masters of Sex (includes airfare!)
Walk-on role in Chicago on Broadway
Jonathan Groff calls you (or your child) – in character as Kristoff from Frozen
Two tickets to the premiere screening and after party for The Walking Dead season 5 in L.A.

· The Voice in L.A.
· The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon

Every bid helps, and every dollar you spend helps Playwrights Horizons to develop and produce the best new American plays and musicals.

Will Hamish Linklater explain that Miranda July movie to me?

  2. I'm sure he will, if you ask nicely. :)

  3. Oh, if I actually had the money to win that auction, I'd ask Mr. Linklater lots of things nicely. He's dreamy.
