SKYROCKETS IN FLIGHT: I hadn't yet referred the ThingThrowers to Alan Sepinwall's Sports Night Rewind series, in which he's reviewing our beloved Sports Night one episode at a time, mainly because I got pouty when early commenters on Alan's "The Pilot" post were insufficiently reverential regarding one of my all-time favorite TV series. However, Alan's post about "The Apology" is now up, and it's clear that there's plenty of love out there. So here's the clarion call: go forth and enjoy the opportunity to relive the first season of Sports Night.
As for "The Apology" itself -- the episode has been so lauded over the years that a lot of it doesn't evoke (in me, anyway) the same emotional reaction that it used to. But because it's Sports Night, there had to be one moment that got me misty all over again. And this time it was the mention of Isaac watching Danny on the broadcast wrestling with what he was going to say: "Come on, Daniel."
