I'M AWARE OF AN OVEN IN WHICH YOU COULD REHEAT THOSE $6 MEALS: I love Wegmans. I love Alec Baldwin. Why don't I love these Wegmans ads with Alec Baldwin?

  1. It just makes me wonder whose mom is he hanging out with so randomly?

I envy you Wegmans so much. I have a grocery store I love out here in L.A. but even still, Wegman's was the very best ever.

Why don't I love these Wegmans ads with Alec Baldwin?

I only watched one, by clicking the link you provided, and the answer is obvious:

(and this is coming from an 30 Rock A. Baldwin fan, and non-NJ-Wegmans envious Massachusetts resident)

    a) Baldwin does not make eye contact with the camera at all, so his general praise (I guess) never hits home...plus it makes him seem more creepy, which is reinforced by the issue seen in b)

    b) in the cakes and pies ad you linked to, Baldwin sticks his finger into a dessert and tastes it before he starts talking, so the "Ewww! Ewwww!" response of a stranger poking and licking a dessert kicks in seconds before the "oh, look, it's Alec Baldwin!" response kicks in. So, the viewer winds up grossed out seconds before they should be sucked in...and the first one way trumps the other (or is that just me?)....they should have reversed the order. Alec Baldwin recognition first (through audio and visual) and THEN finger-sticking-in. (or maybe just skip the part where your celebrity schill sticks his finger in the dessert you're trying to sell? Or is that just me that's creeped out by that?)

I'd be the wrong one to ask. Never creeped out.

Hannah, MA is getting a Wegman's in Northborough, which is near Marlborough (but not near Westborough or Southborough, in case non-MA people were wondering).
