FORTY WHACKS:  Flowers In The Attic is not the only reason to be watching Lifetime this winter--there's also a Christina Ricci-fronted Lizzie Borden movie arriving in January, and the poster has possibly the greatest tagline ever.

    A) Lately, Lifetime has really been attracting the "whacked out crazypants" part of my viewing brain with Witches of East End, Flowers and now this.

    B) For some reason, my childhood library in Mt. Prospect IL had a copy of someone's dissertation on researching the various variations on the forty whacks jump rope rhyme over New England. I remember it being as pretty interesting and having at least 40 different versions of the rhyme.

My thing is that I had no idea until thinking, "Isn't Ricci a little old to be playing Borden?" that Borden was 32 when the murders happened. I thought she was in her late teens, maybe as old as 22. Huh!

I was hoping they were going for a whole early-90's theme and tagline would be: "It's wiggity wiggity wiggity wiggity wiggity wiggity wiggity wiggity wiggity wiggity wiggity wiggity wiggity wiggity wiggity wiggity wiggity wiggity wiggity wiggity wiggity wiggity wiggity wiggity wiggity wiggity wiggity wiggity wiggity wiggity wiggity wiggity wiggity wiggity wiggity wiggity wiggity wiggity wiggity wiggity whack."
