YES, AND THAT THING AT THE FOOT OF FIFTH AVENUE IS THE ARC DE TRIOMPHE: Living in New York, I run into my fair share of tourists now and then with stupid questions. Usually, however, they're of the "which way is Lexington Avenue?" variety--naive, but not stupid. Tonight, though, was a different story. After grabbing dinner near my office, I was walking back to the subway past the Chrysler Building when a tourist tapped me on the shoulder to ask "Hey! Is this the Empire State Building?" I kindly explained "not so much" and directed them southwest toward the building. I mean, have these folks never seen, well, pretty much any movie ever set in New York?
