SOMEWHERE PAUL SPLITTORFF IS SMILING: In honor of his cover story in this week's SI on Kansas City pitcher Zach Grienke, who becomes the first Royal to make the cover since 1993 (David Cone), Joe Posnanski has researched the last cover appearance by a player from each MLB team. The Yankees having the shortest gap (CC Sabathia was on the April 29th cover), while its been 22 long years since a Brewer (Rob Deer) graced the cover.
