¡GIGANTES! : I can't really speak to whether the Giants ought to be beating the Phillies or not (who, after all, were very recently WFC and only needed to put together 11 games and all that), but they are. The Giants are doing everything right and the Phillies, not quite so much. Still plenty of time for those guys to come back -- they are a mighty good team -- but this is turning out to be one hell of a series.
(Confidential to Our North Texas Readership: Come on, Rangers!)
Never before have I been so happy as to fall asleep on the couch at 10:30p. Ugh.
ReplyDeleteHow p.o.'d is Rush that a team from San Francisco, who regularly to by Los Gigantes, are up three to one?
ReplyDeleteWe might have had some psychic connection last night, because I too struggled to stay awake, ultimately failing before the 9th. I can't imagine that's a good sign.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, letting Rollins swing away with Howard on 2nd in that situation was as indefensible as the first tribal council outcome on last night's Survivor.
Oh, Rangers. How you torment us. I still believe, but I'm prepared to have another reason to hate the Yankees through this life and into the next.
ReplyDeleteIf you're referring to the band Rush, I'm confused; if it's to the talk-show host we try to avoid politics here.
ReplyDeleteIf the latter, I think he's a Royals fan, so depending on his American league allegiance may not really care what happens in the National league playoffs. And if the former, they're probably waiting for it to get cold enough to flood the field so they put on their skates.
ReplyDeleteThe only way the Yankees make the series now is by beating Cliff Lee, who is the greatest postseason pitcher in modern history. The Rangers are much better off finishing off the Yankees now so that they can throw Cliff in Game 1 of the WS, but at this point it does not look good for the Yankees.
ReplyDeleteso not so much with the p.o'd.
ReplyDeleteWait a second, Adam C. -- so you not only fell asleep during Game 4 of the NLCS, but you also watched Survivor during the game? Indefensible . . .
ReplyDeleteAlthough Geddy Lee is a huge baseball Dan (and Ayn Rand fan) I think it's the radio fella -- SF and the Espanol and all that. Anyway, Dem Gov Ed Rendell is probably as upset if not more so, along with Phillies fan Justice Alito.
ReplyDeleteMore importantly, when did Ryan Howard become an on-base percentage machine? Silver linings and all that.
Cmon big roy!
I've never seen this much Giants gear on in random suburban settings. Maybe a third of the grocery store had *something* on.
ReplyDeleteOr I have a TiVo....
ReplyDeleteWOOHOO!!! Had to come back and say it!!!
