I'm at an intellectual property law conference, and we're discussing Wills and Kate's faces on tea towels and other souveniers, and whether they should be allowed to sue because many of the items are unauthorized. They have registered their names and likenesses as trademarks!
The British coverage was fairly cringe-light. Apart from the guy working the crowds who repeated every answer that people gave to his lame questions as if we couldn't hear them quite clearly.
Tthe dress was spectacular and Princess Kate was stunning. Prince Harry looked like he was having a blast.I don't have anything interesting to say about Prince William.
I saw some twitter comments about Victoria Beckham's dress being very demure compared to her usual clothes. It's a royal wedding and she's pregnant! What did people expect her to wear?
I loved, LOVED that the couple actually looked like they were enjoying their day, despite all the stuffiness, pomp and circumstance. They looked HAPPY. Can't ask for much more in a wedding.
I didn't pay much attention leading up to the wedding, but i did DVR it to watch early this morning with my princess-loving 5-yr-old daughter. It did not dissapoint as she was mesmerized by the "crazy" hats, uniforms, horses and, of course, regular Kate becoming a princess in a fabulous dress. As she told her brother when he came to see us before heading to school, "Andrew, princesses are real!"
I was impressed by how composed Kate was throughout the proceedings and how the couple seemed to be enjoying themselves and truly happy to be getting married to each other. I also thought Kate's sister Pippa looked amazing, as did her mother. I'm amazed they were all able to keep the dress design and designer a secret up until the big moment. I'm not a big David Beckham fan, but thought he looked unbelievably good today (and is apparently the only man in England who uses a comb).
How're the protests going?

ReplyDeleteMatt Lauer's embarrassment over the "countdown to the kiss" clock is adorbs.

No strapless. Phew.
ReplyDeleteI watched the tailend on PBS. Best coverage, as it was the BBC coverage. Really, I try to watch whatever event I can on PBS.
ReplyDeleteWedding? There's a wedding today?
ReplyDeletePrince got married.

ReplyDeleteI thought she looked lovely and I hope they have a happy life together. That's the most I can summon for this, I think.
ReplyDeleteI hope they have a kick-ass hora tonight.

ReplyDeleteIf you're lifting the Royal Couple up in chairs and you drop one of them, is it a beheading offense?
ReplyDeleteI think that's why you've got Beefeaters on that duty. I'm not trusting a skinny boy like Becks with the chair.
ReplyDeleteThe Queen looked happier (and chic-er) than I've ever seen her, like a sunbeam with a hat.
ReplyDeleteHas Wills trademarked pattern baldness?
ReplyDeleteThe chairs are easy enough to lift. It's lifting the thrones than can give you a royal hernia.

ReplyDeleteThat's Beatrice, her sister.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is number 8. She's watching you!

Good luck to both of them!
