I remembered the Whalers' logo, but it's hard to notice it now that they don't exist.
Missing: Comedy Central. The c representing comedy is in the middle of the larger c, which makes it central. It would have worked better if the internal c were the upside-down one, because upside-down is funny, which makes it comedy, and the comedy is what should be central in the logo if we're punning this out, but it's still good the way that it is.
Incidentally, I don't fault the Belgian author for getting this wrong (that a Belgian is articulate enough in English to write that blog is impressive enough), but I don't think anything he's talking about, with the possible exception of the religious iconography, constitutes a "hidden meaning."
Cool, a bunch I didn't know. Sadly, the Big Ten logo was retired this year with the expansion to twelve teams and now we have this mess.
ReplyDeleteI have never recognized the arrow in FedEx.
ReplyDeleteI liked the old Big Ten (11) logo. Leaders and Legends makes me cry.
I can't believe I never noticed the person in the Tostitos logo before.
ReplyDeleteI never noticed the Brewers or Whalers ones before.

Me neither (re: FedEx)!
ReplyDeleteWhat about Protcor and Gamble and its (alleged) satanic imagery?
ReplyDeleteIsn't the Brewers one great once you see it?
ReplyDeleteI call them Hayes and Schembechler.
ReplyDeleteThat's right up there with the logo on the old dollar bill being a secret map to our national treasure.
ReplyDeleteRight? I stand amazed.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen those films, but I believe our true national treasure is the children.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Let's find and sell them.
ReplyDeletei was worried about "the rule" for a second with that one.
