I'M BLAMING LUPUS: Fox has announced that House, M.D. will complete its eight-year run this May.

1. Trivia:

Hugh Laurie is the highest-paid actor in a tv drama.
He has six Emmy nominations, no wins for the role.
Among the others considered for the role? Denis Leary, Rob Morrow, Patrick Dempsey.
In the 11/20/07 episode, it really was lupus.

2. Laurie's unlikely to win this year, which will put him alongside Martin Sheen and Steve Carell in the "really, they never won an Emmy?" category.

3. He won for a guest appearance on Murphy Brown, but never for portraying Josiah Bartlet.

4. Eight years is a terrific run, and they put out some really good television over that time. After not watching the show for awhile, I recently came back for the "let's give Jesse Spencer something to do other than murdering dictators" arc, and will happily see it through to the end of the series.

Love the header.

I quit house early this season - I'd had enough. I'll watch the last few episodes, I'm sure.

And in time the world will learn to trust a CATscanner again.

I've found it mostly unwatchable since season 6 started, so I'm not surprised. It's really too bad Hugh Laurie never got an Emmy, though; he's fabulous.

Last episode, Hugh Laurie wakes up next to Stephen Fry. "Honey, you won't believe the dream I just had."

Can we also talk about Good Eats going away? That makes me much sadder!

10. Phew! I've been hanging in there, watching this season, even though it's really just more of the same. But I didn't want to give up on it in case this was the last season. I'm hoping that now that they've made it official, the last few episodes will make it worth it.
