YES, I LINKED DIRECTLY TO THAT ONE:  NYMag slideshows Great Pajamas in Mad Men History.

P.S. In re-watching Season 4 with the AMC reruns, I'm struck by how completely foreshadowed Don's decision in "Tomorrowland" was.  Very excited for Sunday -- who doesn't like the beginnings of things?

  1. That slideshow is hilarious - especially THAT ONE that you link directly to, of course.  (I love Alison Brie more here than on Community, but Community and I have a lot of unresolved issues.)

And you're right about the foreshadowing - that's something that really struck me on my own rewatch.  And in a lot of ways it makes sense: Bachelor Don Draper would be a better fit with Faye, but Don Draper With Three Kids needs to be with someone who doesn't get skeeved out spending 30 seconds with Sally.

I haven't read a damn thing about season 5, so I honestly have no idea what's in store - and that's exciting!

Honestly, I'd forgotten just how end-of-term Trudy actually looks in that show (though the frame has been lightened going by my memory).  She looks tired, more than a little bloated and even crankier than dealing with Pete would explain.

Raise your hand if you care enough about Mad Men pajamas to click through the entire list.  I'm not criticizing -- I just want to know how many people care enough to do it.

  4. I don't know that there are that many people who care so much about Mad Men pajamas to click through all of it.  I suspect there are plenty of people who will click through a lot of slides to see Alison Brie in a negligee.

  5. Love Mad Men. Don't care so much about Mad Men pajamas to click through a slideshow.

The very best part of that article is the comment from the random dude about how he never wears pajamas. "Even if I'm at a friend's party or relatives if I have to enter a public room I'll just put on shorts and a t shirt, or more likely just shorts." Taaa-DAAAAAAHHH!!

He apparently has no comment about Trudy and her negligee. Except that maybe he disapproves of her wearing one.

I clicked through because I love Mad Men, and Vulture's slide shows are the lease annoying slide shows out there (no ads stuck in the middle, they load, they don't crash my computer...) Also, good snarky commentary keeps me clicking.

  8. The husband and I are both wondering how much we will be able to buy Alison Brie as Trudy, in light of Community.  When we started watching Community, we were impressed by her range, but after this long of her as Annie without Mad Men being on, I, for one, might have trouble seeing her as the plotting Trudy.

I clicked through because I love Mad Men and am a sucker for period costumes that predate at the very least my birth especially when done well (and I also bought the coffee table book at Banana Republic written by the costume designer so, I am also that person).

I went back and rewatched the pilot--the pilot holds up so well.  Sal has a line (when addressing the tobacco research lady) to the effect of "wait, you mean there are people who are living lives that are opposite of how they really feel, that's ridiculous."
