WHY SO FURIOUS?  I've never seen a Fast and/or Furious movie, though I've heard Fast Five is a good deal of ludicrous fun.  That said, I'm fascinated by Vulture's analysis about the physics and mathematics of Five's climax.  (Spoiler--it's perhaps not so realistic.)

If you have not seen Fast Five (why not?) be aware that the article makes an error to avoid disclosing a spoiler, while the first comment corrects the error by revealing the spoiler.

    ...which is amazing.

And, Matt, I second the "why not"? How have you not seen any of these? The last one's pretty good, actually.

  4. I just don't get Vin Diesel in "serious actor" mode. My understanding is that Fast Five finally crossed the bridge to "live action cartoon," which isn't a bad thing. (And seriously? 2 Fast 2 Furious?)

I somehow came across FF#5 one time on cable or HBO or something and turned it on just at the beginning of this whole set piece. It is an enormously entertaining chase but, of course, impossibly silly.
