My kids, surprising no one, have been singing the Adon Olam one for days. I lead services at my synagogue for the high holidays and am strongly considering getting a gaggle of pre-teen girls to accompany me on plastic cups.
A gaggle is the official term for a mass of preteen girls, right? (E.g.,"I was surrounded by a gaggle of preteens when I was going to another movie next door to the One Direction concert film.")
You'll call out the evening news for a bad "Blurred Lines" parody, but it's all love for a BBYO-talent-show-quality "Get Lucky"? Hypocrite. I hate that YouTube has put parody videos into a wide-distribution channel. Parodies are most amusing for the people who make them, second-most amusing for the friends of the people who make them, and not very relevant for just about anybody else (and I say that as someone who has made parodies before). It's like watching other people's home movies.
I submit also some Macklemore, six13 style: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9HqJTD2E0Q&feature=player_embedded
ReplyDeleteI submit The Muppets.

Oh! And I forgot to say that my favorite part about the Get Lucky video is the yarmulkes flying off of heads.
